About the Rink
For over three decades, The Trump Organization has proudly managed both of Central Park’s Public Skating Rinks along with the iconic Central Park Carousel.
Located in the heart of Central Park, the Wollman Rink is one of the most famed and beloved attractions in all of New York City. Catering to residents and visitors alike, the Wollman Rink offers world-class skating and event opportunities in the most beautiful setting. While the story of Wollman Rink dates back to 1949 and would not be possible without the generosity of Kate Wollman, its legacy would not be what it is today, without the dedication of the Trump Organization.
In 1986, after almost a decade of false starts, construction issues and almost $20 million of City money invested in the reconstruction, then-Mayor Ed Koch turned to real estate developer Donald J. Trump to get the job done. Mr. Trump was a young businessman who was quickly making his mark on the Manhattan skyline and saw what was happening at the Wollman Rink. He saw the potential from day one and knew that this jewel could no longer be forgotten. Given his expertise in both the public and private sector, the project was successfully completed for $2 million in just four months --- ahead of schedule and under budget.
Today, the Trump Organization and their incredible team of professionals remain dedicated to ensuring that every experience at Wollman Rink is memorable, safe and enjoyable. The company has continued to invest significantly, resulting in the Wollman Rink being one of the most successful and visited attractions anywhere in the world, and remains committed to doing so for many years to come. From Skate School to Youth Hockey, Special Events to Public Sessions and so much more, the Wollman Rink is truly an iconic, magical place that is beloved by all.
