Youth Classes

Group Lesson Program Dates:
Saturday, October 27 - Saturday, March 9

Registration for all of our programs is available now through our website or by phone, 212-744-0882.

So long as space remains available, registration is open for all classes and programs throughout the season. Students progress at their own pace, are evaluated throughout the season and promoted to the next level when appropriate.

When registering you have the option of signing up for 10, 15, or 20 classes which your child may use as you are able throughout the current ice skating season.

Starting in mid-December, smaller package options of 6, 8, and 10 classes will be available.

Typically parents select a specific weekly lesson day/time that their child will attend most regularly through the season, though once enrolled, make-ups for missed classes are available in any of the weekly classes of the same level that we offer.



  • First Steps
    • Age 4 | Classes meet for 30 min

      This program for independent pre-school aged children focuses on gently acquainting young children with the ice and developing coordination in a creative & playful environment.

  • Parent & Tot
    • Ages 3-4 | Classes meet for 30 min

      This is a parent participation version of our first steps program for young beginners. Parents should be sufficiently comfortable on ice skates to assist their child. Tots who can move and get up on their own on the ice should register for Snow Plow Sam.

  • Snow Plow Sam
    • Ages 5-6 | Classes meet for 30 min

      First time skaters will be learning basic balance, proper falling and getting up, beginning forward skating & two foot glides. Levels 2 & 3 are progressive in completion and skill mastery. Students work on forward marching with speed, simple turns, beginning backward skating & stops.

  • Pre Hockey
    • Ages 5-8 | Classes meet for 30 min

      Pre Hockey is intended for children who have not ice skated before and who are enthusiastic about hockey. Kids will learn balance, basic forward & backward skating, glides, stops, turns and beginning crossovers.

  • Basic Skills 1
    • Ages 6+ | Classes meet for 30 min

      The "Basic Skills" are the foundation skills of skating. Once a skater has completed the first two levels, they may choose to enroll in Junior Figure Skating Academy or Junior Rangers Hockey Training.

      The Level 3-6 skill progression includes edge techniques, forward and backward crossovers, edge turns, stops, power stroking, footwork combinations & much more! Skaters at this level can also opt for the Junior Figure Skating Academy or Youth Hockey.
